Preschoolers and young kids need to stay busy during the summer, and preschool camp is the perfect way to introduce new interests and develop socialization skills. Luckily, Atlanta offers many summer camps geared for the younger set! Our list of day camps for preschoolers allow parents to choose a summer camp that aligns with interests and schedule. We’ve included summer camps that offer a little bit of everything, as well as camps specifically for sports, dance, drama, and more. Camp Kingfisher at Chattahoochee Nature Center – Roswell
Chattahoochee Nature Center offers its popular Camp Kingfisher to kids, from preschoolers to teens. Hike, canoe, kayak, swim, and enjoy nature surrounding the Chattahoochee River. Summer camp, as well as winter break camp and holiday break, spots fill up quickly.
Dunwoody Nature Center – Dunwoody
Kids ages 4-11 learn about wetlands, birds, reptiles, and more at the 22-acre Dunwoody Nature Center’s weekly summer camps. The center also hosts camps for kids ages 9-13 at the Island Ford unit of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, as well as homeschool classes, adult classes, and mommy-and-me classes.
Summer Camp at Blue Heron Nature Center – Atlanta
Kids ages 4-12 will learn about nature at the 30-acre Blue Heron Nature Preserve. A popular theme is Mud Week, where campers play in the mud to learn about underground ecosystems. Other summer camp themes include rocks, bugs, and outdoor survival. Campers ages 4-6 can opt for half-day or full-day sessions.
Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) – Dunwoody
The Marcus JCC of Atlanta (MJCCA) has programs, a fitness center, summer camps and school break camps, sports, classes and preschools for the local community. There are camps and classes for a huge gamut of interests.
YMCA of Atlanta Summer Day Camps – Various locations
The YMCA gives parents lots of options when it comes to summer day camp. With over a dozen locations across metro Atlanta, parents can easily choose the campus closest to them. Many locations also have affordable specialty camps, like sports, cheer, STEM, and nature. The Y offers financial assistance to families based on their ability to pay.
Forefront Arts – Various locations
Forefront Arts brings professional performing arts training and theater performance opportunities to locations throughout metro Atlanta, including Alpharetta, Marietta, and Gwinnett. School break camps and summer camps available.
Atlanta Playball – Various locations
Playball uses sports as the means to develop the whole child. Playball programs help to improve each child’s physical, emotional, and abilities. Summer camp and school programs available throughout Atlanta.
My Gym Roswell – Roswell
Babies can move from aggressive crawling to running, while also learning skills like stacking blocks, kicking a ball, and riding a tricycle at these fitness-focused caregiver-and-child classes. Kids join Gymsters class (from 18-30 months) and finally attend the Terrific Tots program, where grown-up involvement is reduced. Summer camp and birthday parties available.
The Little Gym Atlanta – Various locations
My Gym offers various locations throughout Atlanta, including Alpharetta, Decatur, Smyrna, Snellville, and Buford. Babies, preschoolers, and young children enjoy sports classes and camps during the year.
The Peach Pit – Brookhaven and Buckhead
The Peach Pit gym offers gymnastics, dance, cheerleading, martial arts, and more classes. Summer camps and birthday parties are available. Additional focuses include toddler time, mommy-and-me classes, and much more.
The Gym at Peachtree – Buckhead
The Gym at Peachtree is a fitness center that also offers programs such as sports leagues, sports classes, and cheer. In the summer months, the Gym has lots of day camps with fun themes.
Challenger Sports – Various locations
Kids as young as 2 can learn and perfect their soccer skills with Challenger Sports camps and clinics, located across metro Atlanta.
Atlanta Ballet Center for Dance Education – Virginia-Highland and Buckhead
Atlanta Ballet’s education wing offers classes and camps for children as young as two at their three locations around Atlanta.
Atlanta Kick – Atlanta
A provider of adult and kid karate classes for over 27 years, Atlanta Kick also has summer camps, school-break camps, and birthday parties.
Bach to Rock – Marietta, Johns Creek, and Alpharetta
Bach to Rock offers private and group lessons for all things relating to music, including all kinds of instruments (even the ukelele), voice, and songwriting. It also offers summer and school break camps at all Atlanta area locations.
Atlanta International School Summer Camps – Buckhead
Atlanta International School offers a full summer of week-long camps for elementary and middle school-age kids. Programming includes STEM-based camps such as Young Architects, Cardboard Engineering, and Makers Club, as well as sports, language, and arts camps.
Club SciKidz Atlanta – Various locations
Club SciKidz offers summer camps in eight locations around Atlanta for kids entering grades Pre-K through 7. STEM-loving kids will want to enroll in Makebot Robotics, Nintendo Labo, and Advanced Minecraft. Kids wanting to focus on science will enjoy Chemistry Concoctions, Grossology, Emergency Medicine, and Forensic Detective camp sessions.
The Spanish Academy Summer Camp – Buckhead, East Cobb, Emory, & Suwanee
Each week is a new language immersion experience with a different theme so you may enroll your child in as many weeks of camp as you would like. Campers enjoy hands-on learning through arts and crafts, outdoor activities, science experiments, singing, dancing, face painting, water activities and much more while developing their language skills in Spanish.
