Atlanta

Hey there, friends! Have you heard what’s happening in the southeast? There’s a pretty big story that’s unfolding right now and it’s got a lot of people talking.

Teen Murder Suspect Possibly Hiding in Metro Atlanta

First up, if you’re in the Atlanta area, you might want to keep your eyes peeled. Deputies in Bibb County are on the lookout for a teenage murder suspect who they think could be hiding out in our neck of the woods. His name is Johnquavis Leonardo Ruthledge, and he’s only 17 years old. This young man from Macon is wanted in connection with a pretty serious incident—the death of a 20-year-old named Gabreon Tyrese Harrison. This happened on August 1st over on the 2400 block of Holland Drive.

Now, just so you know what to look for, Ruthledge is around 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair, and a pretty distinctive spider web tattoo with the number three on his neck. If you see him or have any information that might help the deputies track him down, they’re asking that you give them a call at (478) 751-7500. Stay safe out there, folks.

Hurricane Helene Setting Sights on Georgia

And, oh boy, there’s something else coming our way that we need to prepare for. The southeast is getting ready for the approach of Tropical Storm Helene, which is gearing up to become a major hurricane. The storm is currently trekking northwards and is expected to hit Florida’s panhandle before making its way through Georgia by the end of this week.

The weather experts are keeping a close watch as Helene gains strength. With all this going on, we can expect that a bunch of planned events are going to be canceled ahead of the storm’s arrival. It’s always better to be safe than sorry, right?

If you’ve got plans this weekend, especially those that involve being outdoors, you might want to double-check to see if they’re still happening. Things can get pretty unpredictable when it comes to big storms like this. Stay tuned for more updates and make sure you have all the supplies you might need—think about things like flashlights, batteries, water, and non-perishable food just in case.

These are challenging times with both man-made and natural events shaking up our daily lives. It seems like more than ever, we need to look out for each other, keep informed, and stay prepared. If you come across something noteworthy or if you need help, don’t hesitate to reach out to the local authorities. They’re here to help and keep everyone safe.
