A horrifying act of violence claimed the tranquility of the city of Stockbridge, leaving three people seriously injured due to gunshot wounds. The unfortunate incident transpired in proximity to two routinely busy locations, a Popeyes restaurant and a Dollar General store, causing sudden panic among citizens.

Caught in Gunfire: Victims Found at Two Separate Locations

The local authorities were alerted about the incident around 9 pm, following immediate reports of shots fired near the Dollar General store situated along North Henry Boulevard, at Highway 138. Upon arrival, the law enforcement officers discovered two victims, inside a vehicle, bearing gunshot injuries.

However, another startling revelation soon followed this initial discovery when a subsequent 911 call reported a bleeding man within the premises of the Popeyes across the street. According to Lt. Commander Ron Momon from Stockbridge Police, it is believed that this victim somehow managed to reach the restaurant from the chaotic shooting site’s parking lot.

Panic Strikes: Witnesses Recount Terrifying Incident

Employees from a business near the scene reported hearing the harrowing sound of approximately a dozen gunshots. Fear took over, and these individuals promptly sought safety behind a freezer. The victims, including two shot in the legs and one in the chest, were promptly transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. Despite their wounds, they were responsive to the medics.

The Investigation: A Quest for Understanding the Motive

As disruption faded into the night, several crucial details remained unclear, including the number of shots fired and the possibility of it being a shootout. However, the investigative team reported recovering three firearms from the scene. Enumerating on this, Lt. Commander Momon stated, “We believe all three of the victims are connected somehow; we just don’t know how they are connected.”

The Police Department is set to undertake a thorough investigation, combing over the crime scene meticulously, reviewing available surveillance footage, and contacting potential witnesses.
