Rock-Throwing Attack Shatters Sandy Springs Woman’s Sense of Safety

Rock-Throwing Incident Leaves Sandy Springs Woman in Fear

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Imagine driving to a routine hair appointment and suddenly becoming the victim of a terrifying rock-throwing attack. This is exactly what happened to Robie, a local Sandy Springs resident, on September 4, who is now living in fear more than a week after the incident. Robie has chosen not to disclose her last name due to safety concerns.

Recalling the frightening day, Robie explained she was on her way to an appointment off West Paces Ferry Road in Buckhead. Her drive took an unexpected turn when she encountered a pedestrian blocking the road. The man was furiously shouting at another driver, forcing Robie to stop her vehicle. “He was nuts and crazy,” Robie recounted. “He was screaming and yelling at the man!”

Unfortunately, this chaotic scenario escalated rapidly. Moments after the initial shouting, the man turned his attention toward Robie and suddenly threw a rock at her car. The impact was tremendous, shattering her windshield. Despite the damage, Robie managed to compose herself and drive away from the scene, seeking safety.

Searching for help, Robie pulled into the Whole Foods parking lot and called 911. “I saw the man walking toward me,” she said. “I panicked. I didn’t know what to do.” Fearful and confused, she also contacted a friend who was able to flag down an off-duty officer in the area. Unfortunately, the suspicion-laden man escaped before anyone could gather a detailed description of him.

The event has left Robie feeling unsettled and worried. Atlanta police have confirmed that they are actively investigating the incident, seeking leads to apprehend the culprit. For Robie, though, the experience has been harrowing, and she remains vigilant in the days since.

Such incidents highlight the unpredictable and sometimes hazardous nature of everyday life. It’s a stark reminder to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to authorities immediately.
