Nunn School Symposium IV: The Political Vulnerability of Economic Interdependence

Atlanta – The Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech is set to host its fourth symposium focusing on the political vulnerability of economic interdependence. The event, scheduled for March 11, will delve into the increasing use of economic tools by governments for foreign policy objectives and the associated risks of economic interdependence.

The half-day seminar will feature discussions on how different jurisdictions leverage economic tools for geopolitical purposes and aim to mitigate their economic vulnerabilities. The lineup of speakers includes:

  • Ambassador Louise Blais – Diplomat-in-Residence and former Canadian Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Consul General of Canada in Atlanta
  • Ambassador Rachel Galloway – British Consul General in Atlanta
  • Peter Harrell – Nonresident fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and former Senior Director for International Economics at the National Security Council and the National Economic Council
  • Dalton Lin – Assistant Professor at the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, Georgia Institute of Technology
  • Alasdair Young – Professor and Neal Family Chair at the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, Georgia Institute of Technology
  • Kazuto Suzuki – Professor at the Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Tokyo, and Director of the Institute of Geoeconomics at International House of Japan
