Family demanding answers after Morehouse School of Medicine graduate found dead in Lithonia

Longtime friend questions circumstances surrounding Dr. Diamond Clarke’s death

ATLANTA, Ga. (Here News) – The family of a recent Morehouse School of Medicine graduate is demanding justice. Dr. Diamond Clarke, 28, was found dead just weeks after her graduation. Her family believes foul play is involved.

Darren Anglin, one of Clarke’s long-time friends, expressed concerns over the mysterious circumstances surrounding her death. “We received a crash alert from her phone between 5 and 5:30 p.m. That prompted our concerns,” said Anglin.

Dekalb County police reported that Clarke was last seen at her Decatur home on May 28. Police records indicate that her body was discovered with a gunshot wound to her head a day later in a wooded area in Lithonia. Her car was found abandoned nearby, and investigators recovered her phone in the driveway of her home.

Questions and Suspicions

Anglin stated, “If I’m not mistaken, there were five rounds found on the scene and Diamond suffered a gunshot wound to the head. We want to better understand who the owner of the gun may be and how the gun was discharged.”

According to police records, Clarke’s boyfriend was reportedly the last person to see her. He claimed that they had an argument at her home, after which Clarke left and never returned.

Clarke had recently attained the title of “doctor” and was preparing to start her residency in South Georgia. Her dedication to underserved communities and holistic healthcare was well-recognized, earning her prestigious awards and accolades from the medical community.

Seeking Justice

A tribute to Clarke was paid at the recent Megan Thee Stallion concert at State Farm Arena. The family is actively working with the police to ensure a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her untimely death.

“Now that she’s gone, the family is looking for justice for this woman who dedicated her entire life to seeking justice and life for others,” Anglin emphasized.

Official Statements and Investigation

Dekalb County Police indicated that Clarke’s death appears to be a suicide. However, her family maintains that the investigation is ongoing to rule out any foul play. An autopsy by the medical examiner’s office is set to determine the exact cause of her death.

With heartfelt condolences, Adrian Tyndall, the Morehouse School of Medicine dean, expressed the institution’s profound loss and highlighted Clarke’s significant contributions to healthcare and community service.

Conclusion

The unexpected and tragic loss of Dr. Diamond Clarke has left her family and friends reeling, seeking answers and closure in the wake of this devastating event. As the investigation unfolds, the demand for justice and clarity only grows stronger, as the legacy of a promising young doctor is remembered and honored.
