This isn’t Dr. Scott’s first foray into the restaurant world—he previously owned a popular eatery called Taste of Chicago while he was a medical student. Talk about having the best of both worlds!
From Medical Degree to BBQ Dreams
Dr. Scott, who specializes in sports and rehabilitation medicine, took a trip down memory lane when he reminisced about his restaurant in Nashville. There was a big demand for Chicago-style eats like Italian beef sandwiches and hot dogs while he was studying at Meharry Medical College. “There wasn’t a place like that in Nashville,” he shared. “Taste of Chicago was open late for students studying hard, so it was a perfect pit stop for a quick snack.”
Famous Dave’s: A Family Favorite
Now, as he expands his horizons, Dr. Scott is all set to bring his family’s favorite barbecue joint to Georgia. “Living in Tacoma, it was a go-to restaurant for me and my family,” Dr. Scott explained. He was first introduced to Famous Dave’s there and has followed the brand ever since. “I’ve been a big fan of the brand for decades,” he said, leaving many BBQ lovers in Atlanta squealing with delight.
Hunting for the Perfect Locations
So where will these delicious restaurants pop up? Well, Dr. Scott and his team are scouting for locations in Alpharetta and Johns Creek, and have their sights set on Buckhead and Marietta too! How about that for a tasty treasure hunt? The initial agreement includes plans for three locations, but Dr. Scott has his eyes on even more as the operation grows. “I would love to open more,” he said enthusiastically.
