Howdy, folks of College Park! Are you ready for a fantastic experience that promises to be full of fun and family-friendly activities? The clock is tickin’ down to Saturday, October 12, when the much-loved Ward 4 Citywide Festival bursts into life once more. This charming event will be held at the Charles E. Phillips Sr., Esq. Park located at 4400 Herschel Road in College Park, GA.
Get ready to mark this date on your calendars because it’s shaping up to be an unmissable occasion. Our very own Mayor Pro Tem Roderick Gay and his wonderful wife Pamela are the hosts this year, and they have a delightful agenda planned. It’s the perfect way to bring the community together with a whole day of entertainment, excitement, and, most importantly, community spirit. Expect to see smiles everywhere you look!
You’ll be tap-dancing in the streets, figuratively, of course, as this festival features an incredibly diverse lineup of live entertainment. Get ready to groove to the sweet sounds of The Voice of Atlanta and enjoy special performances by recording artists Wanmor and Mr. ColliPark. It’s bound to get you up and moving!
But that’s not all! If you or your kiddos have got some pent-up energy, you’ll want to check out the bounce house. For those with a creative flair, arts and crafts stalls await, ready to ignite your imagination. Need to satisfy your taste buds? No worries because the tempting aroma of delicious food will be in the air, offering mouthwatering treats for everyone.
Things are about to heat up at the Fire/EMS Expo, where safety doesn’t take a back seat. The College Park Fire Department has gone all out to ensure you learn while having fun. Ever wondered how to handle a fire extinguisher? Now’s your chance to get some handy hands-on training. You’ll also get the opportunity to check out fire trucks and go for a ride – how cool is that?
What’s more, there will be free car seat distribution and a wealth of important fire safety tips to keep your home – and your family – safe and sound. It’s an opportunity not to be missed, and a fine way to ensure you’re well-prepared for any emergency.
No festival event would be complete without leaving you inspired and uplifted. The day wraps up with the Prayer After Party featuring the ever-inspiring Dottie Peoples. After a fulfilling day of activities, this is the perfect way to wind down and reflect on the communal joy experienced.
Thinking about making a mini getaway out of it? Great! College Park has a range of accommodations nearby. From the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Airport/Millenium Center, just under a mile away, to the Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel, slightly over a mile, there’s a spot that’ll feel just like home.
So, rally your friends, gather the family, and head on over to this bustling annual festival that has something for everyone. See you there!
