Exciting Redevelopment in Chamblee Set to Transform Suburban Landscape into Vibrant Mixed-Use Community

Exciting Redevelopment in Chamblee Promises a Mixed-Use Community

Chamblee, a bustling suburb nestled just outside of Atlanta, is on the verge of a major transformation. The developers from Third & Urban are turning heads as they plan to redevelop a tired suburban office campus into a stunning mixed-use haven right across from the newly built Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Arthur M. Blank Hospital.

A Vision for the Community

The site in question is currently home to a sprawling 32-acre office park known as Corporate Square Boulevard, nestled between Buford Highway and Interstate 85. Managing Partner Pierce Lancaster shared that Third & Urban is seeking to change the site’s zoning from its existing industrial designation to a master-planned development zoning. This exciting change will pave the way for some much-needed updates in the area.

So, what can the community expect from this redevelopment? Third & Urban has big plans that include the addition of an impressive 2,000 residential units. This will encompass apartments, corporate housing, and townhomes, ensuring there are accommodations for a variety of lifestyles. They also plan to create 30,000 square feet of retail space, a 350-room hotel, and a whopping 100,000 square feet of medical office space. Quite the transformation, right?

Integrating with Nature and Community

One of the standout features of this project is its location. The site is perfectly positioned along the Peachtree Creek Greenway, a path that will eventually connect to Atlanta’s beloved BeltLine. This means future residents and visitors can enjoy beautiful greenspaces and outdoor recreational areas — a wonderful asset for families and active individuals alike. The area also benefits from its proximity to important institutions like Emory University and the CDC. This redevelopment aims to cater to a growing number of medical staff and office workers who would prefer to live near their workplaces, alongside families needing flexible housing options.

New Dining Options Coming to Alpharetta

Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants is set to open its very first location in the city! This new restaurant will span 11,000 square feet at the Mansell Crossing shopping center, costing around $4.9 million to build. Known for its heavy emphasis on wine and Napa Valley-inspired dishes, this venue is poised to become a local favorite.

Innovation in Union City

TA Realty is proposing a significant 1 million-square-foot data center campus in Union City. This modern facility will feature four 250,000-square-foot data centers set to be completed by 2030 on a 67-acre site. This initiative could inject some serious economic momentum into the area.

Office Space Movements

Serenity Healthcare striking a deal for a full floor of office space at One Lakeside Commons, while CONA Services is relocating to Ponce City Market. The latter will employ around 180 Atlanta staff members in their new space, continuing the trend of growth in this vibrant city.
