Exciting News for Bethlehem: Kroger is Coming to Town!

Hey there, fellow Bethlehem residents! Buckle up because we’ve got some exciting news to share with you—Kroger is planting roots right here in our lovely town! Plans are underway to build a brand new Kroger grocery store at 995 Loganville Highway, and it’s going to be a big one, boasting around 120,000 square feet of shopping space!

Building Our Community

For those who aren’t in the know, Kroger isn’t just any grocery store. It’s a historic brand that kicked off back in 1883 when a gentleman named Barney Kroger opened the very first location in downtown Cincinnati. Talk about staying power! They’ve been innovators over the decades, even being the pioneers in America to test the cutting-edge electronic scanner back in 1972. How cool is that?

Today, Kroger has nearly 2,800 stores across 35 states, operating under various names such as Smith’s, Fry’s, and Dillons. For those of us down in Georgia, we’re in luck since Kroger operates more than 160 stores in our great state. So, clearly, we can expect a familiar grocery experience when this new location opens its doors.

What’s Next for Bethlehem?

Now, if you’re wondering about what’s next, listen up! The construction bids for our new Kroger store are set to be accepted until November 19, 2024. That means work could start soon after, bringing even more excitement to our community. And just a heads up to our Lawrenceville friends, Kroger isn’t stopping here—they’re also working on another new store just up the road!

A Hub for Shopping Variety

Once completed, this Kroger is expected to become a central hub where locals can gather not just to shop for groceries but to experience a convenient lifestyle. Whether you’re grabbing a quick meal, picking up weekly staples, or enjoying fresh produce, this store is set to add a delightful burst of accessibility to our everyday lives.

We Want to Hear From You!

Are you as excited as we are about this major development in our town? Perhaps you’ve got ideas on what you’d like to see at the new store? Whether it be organic veggies, ready-to-eat meals, or an expanded selection of unique snacks—you name it! We want to encourage you to share your thoughts. Community input is what powers the growth of our beloved Bethlehem!

This is hardly the last of the changes to come to our area as new businesses open up or make their home in Bethlehem. With Kroger joining the neighborhood, more job opportunities may arise, and your grocery shopping experience will certainly feel fresher and more vibrant.

Wrapping It Up!

As we look ahead to the future, it’s clear that things are stirring up in Bethlehem, and the arrival of Kroger is just the start. With construction on the horizon and a community-ready to embrace it, we have a ton to look forward to! Make sure to keep your ears open for updates, and let’s welcome our new grocery neighbor when they open their doors!

Here’s to good fortune and great groceries in Bethlehem!
