Among the passengers was Ash Gurney, who noted a commotion toward the rear of the aircraft. Responding to calls for assistance, Gurney, seated in the aisle, observed multiple individuals engaged in a scuffle.

Without hesitation, Gurney unfastened his seatbelt and rushed back to help restrain an unruly passenger, who was described as being out of control.
