The highlights of July 2024 include a series of unusual but tantalizing offerings, such as the Battle of the Bruschetta, and a new avatar for burritos, bearing the glitter of gold. Here’s an exciting round-up of restaurant news slated for the month.

Food Events Galore

Among several events for food enthusiasts, Postino WineCafe is kicking off the Battle of The Bruschetta in a bracket-style competition that spans all summer. Challenging the taste buds of guests will be four limited-time bruschetta recipes, including French Onion, Buffalo Cauliflower, Philly Cheesesteak, and Berry Mascarpone. Guests get a chance to vote for their favorite flavor, with the top one securing a permanent spot on the bustling Postino’s fall 2024 menu.

On the other hand, NaanStop is throwing an annual Popsicle Party that promises a fun-filled day with free handmade Rosewater Lemonade popsicles and Mango Lassi creamsicles. Among other events, Nakato Japanese Restaurant offers a sushi-making class at Fire Maker Brewery, and the Candler Hotel is hosting the PeachFest Wine Dinner at By Georgia, featuring a five-course wine dinner offering delights such as grilled peaches and burrata, and maple and vanilla roasted peaches.

Another eye-catching event is Buckhead Restaurant Week which includes several participating restaurants like Davio’s, South City Kitchen, and The Capital Grille, among others. Not to be forgotten, BeetleCat in collaboration with OpenTable has plans for a special dinner day that includes a four-course meal with a rich, flavorful menu.

Snacking Delights and Sumptuous Specials

High on the palate and easy on the pocket, Del Taco honors the 4th of July with a buy one, get one free (BOGO) deal on the Double Del Cheeseburger. The BBQ lovers are in for a treat too, as Sweet Auburn Barbecue offers a mouth-watering Fourth of July BBQ Package featuring pulled pork, baby back ribs, sides, and sauces all wrapped up for a perfect picnic.

Food enthusiasts get to see a twist in their drinks, as Hopdoddy Burger Bar introduces drinks inspired by TikTok’s viral dirty soda trend. Available in-store for a limited period, these are bound to keep taste buds excited. Moreover, Raising Cane’s has some surprises planned for National Chicken Finger Day and National French Fry Day.

New Dining Destinations

Adding to the city’s vibrant dining scene are many new restaurant openings. Velvet Taco Perimeter, located at Dunwoody, is a delightful addition. Meanwhile, The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, now open in Roswell, promises an elevated dining experience with its Mediterranean fare.

A welcome extension of the Chefs Market and Bazaar is Pullman Yard’s launch of Brick and Mortar, a unique restaurant residency program, offering an incubator space for upcoming chefs and culinary concepts. The first residency begins on August 10, providing exciting opportunities for new ventures.

Peach Galore

In glorious homage to Georgia’s favorite fruit, several eateries will be featuring peach dishes and drinks on their menus. From classic peach salads at places like ST. CECILIA to the Peach Tea Julep cocktail at SOUTH CITY KITCHEN, there’s a peach dish offering for everyone.

Among other memorable experiences, one also has the PeachFest Wine Dinner at the Candler Hotel, featuring a five-course wine dinner with dishes including roasted peaches, coffee-infused Tuscan braised short ribs, and rosemary grilled lamb.
