ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The driver of a car that turned in front of a school charter bus in Pickens County Friday night is in critical condition, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP). It happened shortly after 9:15 p.m. on GA 5 and Interstate South Drive.

GSP officials said a black sports car turned left in front of a charter bus with 40 people, most of whom were juveniles taking part in a school function. The bus hit the passenger side of the car. Two people on the bus were taken to the hospital for injuries. GSP officials did not say what school district the bus involved in the accident was from or if the two on the bus taken to the hospital were juveniles.
