Family Fun at the Public Library

The festivities kick off at 11:00 AM at the Public Library, where families can gather for 90 minutes of delightful stories. Whether you’re a kid or just young at heart, this session promises to transport everyone to new and magical worlds through the power of storytelling. Mark your calendars from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM for an unforgettable family experience.

Share Your Story at Simcoe Street Theatre Press Room

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to share your own story? Well, here’s your chance! From 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, Collingwood’s Simcoe Street Theatre Press Room will host an interactive workshop where participants can learn the art of storytelling. In a cozy and supportive environment, you can hone your skills and perhaps find the confidence to share your own tales. Note that there is a $20 fee for this workshop, but those who have participated before swear by its value.

Collingwood Invitational Story Slam

The main event of the day, the Collingwood Invitational Story Slam, will take place from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Simcoe Street Theatre. This thrilling showdown will feature 8-10 master storytellers, each competing to captivate the audience with a 6-minute tale. With judges present and the audience contributing to the final decision, this promises to be an edge-of-your-seat experience. Don’t miss this chance to witness storytelling at its finest.

Meanwhile, the Horizon Theatre will continue its 40th season with the comedy Wild With Happy, running from August 16 to September 15. The press opening for this hilarious and touching show is set for August 23.
