Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month Right Here in Atlanta!

ATLANTA — Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, is a special time to honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. It’s a month to celebrate the diversity and vibrancy that the Latin American community brings to the U.S. And this year, Metro Atlanta has plenty of fun and engaging events where you can experience the food, music, art, and traditions that make this heritage so unique.

So, if you’re looking for a way to join the celebration, here’s a list of exciting events happening around the city during Hispanic Heritage Month!

Spanish-Language Films at AMC Theatres

Date and location: Sept. 13 through Oct. 11 at AMC Theatres across the U.S.
Description: AMC is showing select Spanish-language films at 25 locations to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some fantastic films and gain deeper insights into Hispanic stories and filmmakers.

Placita Latina Exhibition at Decatur Arts Alliance Gallery

Date and location: Sept. 20 through Oct. 20 at Decatur Arts Alliance Gallery, 113 Clairemont Ave, Decatur, GA

Hispanic Heritage Celebration at Truist Park

Latino Artists and Films Festival

Date and location: Sept. 26 through Sept. 29 at Gas South Convention Center and other venues
Description: Support the work of numerous Latino artists and films in this Latino-curated festival. With over 30 screenings of independent, international, animated, documentary, virtual reality, music videos, and short films from around the world, there is something for everyone!

Mexican Folk Dance at Gwinnett County Public Library – Lilburn Branch

Date and location: Sept. 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Description: Experience the magic of traditional Mexican folk dances and learn about the folkloric dances and traditions of Mexican culture. A fantastic cultural immersion perfect for all ages.

Latino Alliance of South Atlanta’s Community Event

Date and location: Oct. 5 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Drake Field, 155 Willowbend Road
Description: A free community event hosted by the nonprofit Latino Alliance of South Atlanta in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. Enjoy unique, continuous entertainment that includes Hispanic music and dance performances, while also getting to know your community better.

Heritage Celebrations in Conyers

Date and location: Oct. 6 from 12 to 6 p.m. at 901 Railroad Street, Conyers, GA
Description: Celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens with ancestors from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. This is an ideal family-friendly event to learn and enjoy together.

Latin Arts and Music Fest at Historic Fourth Ward Park
