A New Mission-Minded Restaurant is Coming to Atlanta!
Atlanta, get ready for something special! A unique dining experience is on its way to the heart of the city, and it’s not just about the food. Café Momentum is set to open its doors at 200 Peachtree Street, and it’s making waves with a mission that aims to make a real difference.
What is Café Momentum?
So, what’s Café Momentum all about? This modern American casual fine-dining restaurant is not just about serving great food; it’s about giving back to the community. The cafe will offer opportunities to young people aged 15 to 19 who have been involved with the juvenile justice system. The goal is to provide these youths with valuable life skills and job training through a 12-month paid internship program.
The brains behind this inspiring concept is Chef Chad Houser, who came up with the idea after teaching young men in a juvenile detention center how to make ice cream. The joy he saw on their faces sparked a passion in him to create an initiative that could help young individuals turn their lives around. The first Café Momentum opened in Dallas in 2015, followed by a restaurant in Pittsburgh, and now it’s Atlanta’s turn to take part in this amazing mission!
What Can Diners Expect?
At Café Momentum, guests can expect a delicious menu with a casual fine-dining flair. The restaurant will feature a seating capacity of 110, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family. Planned operating hours are from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, allowing for cozy dinner outings or weekend celebrations.

Interns will rotate through various roles in the restaurant, gaining hands-on skills in the culinary world, customer service, and overall restaurant operations. Leading the charge in Atlanta is Stewart Williams, who brings over 30 years of nonprofit experience to the team. Williams is passionate about giving youths opportunities to succeed, and his guidance will be crucial in nurturing the interns as they learn and grow. Recently, a job posting indicated that Café Momentum is also looking for a Chef de Cuisine to oversee kitchen operations and serve as a mentor for the interns, ensuring they receive top-notch training and support.
