Grubbing Around Atlanta: The Best Eats This Month

Grubbing Around Atlanta: The Best Eats This Month

As another mouth-watering month comes to a close in Atlanta, it’s time to reminisce about the tastiest dishes we’ve had the pleasure of devouring around the city. From unusual culinary creations to sumptuously rich meals, let’s dig into the best foods and where to find them!

Hot dog ice cream at Georgia Boy

Let’s start off with the mind-boggling yet delectable hot dog ice cream by Chef Joey Ward at Georgia Boy. Yep, you read that right! This creative genius has swooped the gastronomic scene with an ice cream dish that tastes just like a hot dog. Nestled in a fluffy brioche bun and adorned with mustard, slaw, and the pièce de résistance – caviar, this dish perfectly encapsulates the word, whimsical. Not to be missed is the “A-Town” smash burger at Southern Belle for meat enthusiasts. This limited-time combo includes a juicy double-patty Wagyu beef burger and comes with a peach milkshake and fries.

Omakase at M by Tasuku Murakami at Umi

Next, we venture to Umi, for an experience that is all about elevating sushi to an art form. The Omakase at M by Tasuku Murakami blew us away. The highlights would have to be the exquisite nigiri servings, the unique sushi rice whipped with uni (sea urchin), and the sake pairing event curated by sommelier Joon Lim. Each dish was a beautifully adorned canvas, thanks to the beautiful ceramics made by Brooklyn-based artist Nicole Pilar Fell.

The duck at Lazy Betty

For all the poultry lovers out there, a must visit is Lazy Betty. This season, their star dish was the duck. Dry-aged in-house with a fragrant lavender and fennel rub, the breast dish was tender and spot-on. But that’s not all! A side of duck leg confit housed in a pastry puff and crowned with foie gras had us declaring it “sin on a plate.

Signing off

So folks, that’s been our food trail for this month, exploring delightful surprises and tried-and-true favorites across Atlanta. From the unconventional but successful experiments to the divinely tasty traditional dishes, this city never ceases to amaze us with its food scene. So, get out there, put on your explorer hat, and don’t forget to share your “aha” food moments. You never know, it could become the talk of the town in next month’s roundup.
