Our hats go off to sartorial wizards like Julie Marcigliano whose spellbinding designs for “INTO THE WOODS” at Bellissimo Theater pulled audiences deeper into the fantasy. Meanwhile, on the professional front, Alex Allison’s mesmerizing creations for the “THE LITTLE MERMAID” at Springer Opera House kept fans talking for weeks.
Spine-Tingling Dance Productions!
Dance had a phenomenal year with non-professional showcases like “DISNEY’S NEWSIES” at Theatre Macon leading the charge, gently nudging competition like “HAIR SPRAY” at the Fox Theatre. Not to be outdone, the professionals captivated onlookers with the electrifying “RENT”, striking the right note at The Atlanta Opera.
The Crew That Steered the Ship
Recognizing direction is crucial and the voting looks closely contested among stellar directors, like Eric Bragg for “TUCK EVERLASTING”, or experienced directors like Heidi Cline McKerley for “NATASHA, PIERRE, AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812” who brought immeasurable depth and grandeur to their respective productions.
Scenic Design and Sound – Crafting The Perfect Stage
The magic doesn’t stop with performance as incredible craftsman from Carson Letner with “HEATHERS THE MUSICAL” to Caleb Huneycutt working his sound design magic on “JERSEY BOYS” created unforgettable auditory landscapes.
