Atlanta Joins Forces with Mayor’s Summer Reading Club 2024
Wednesday, June 12, 2024, the city’s educational initiative takes another leap forward as the Mayor’s Summer Reading Club (MSRC) 2024 holds its next session at 1:00 PM EDT. Offering fantastic free literary engagements themed on “Ag Growing in Forestry,” this year’s program promises to be a fun-filled and educational ride for children and their families.
Program Overview
MSRC 2024 continues its tradition of sparking interest in reading among children aged 0 to 5 by organizing a series of events throughout the summer. The events aim to increase awareness on various themes, with this year’s focus being farming and forestry. Children get the opportunity to participate in numerous activities such as mosaic painting, harvesting at a community garden, learning about forestry, and many more – all while delving into the world of books. The kids are also set to receive their own copies of the featured books.

- June 5, 2024: Bina’s Harvest – Featuring a mosaic painting of a farm
- June 12, 2024: Noah’s Family Farm – Engaging children through planter cup creation
- June 26, 2024: Bina’s Harvest – A chance to learn about harvesting at Hartnett Community Garden
- July 10, 2024: Focuses on both books – Atlanta: City in the Forest / What is AgGro Forestry?
- July 24, 2024: Bina’s Harvest – Allows children to express their creativity through flower painting

For those attending the in-person event, it’s recommended to dress comfortably and bring along a reusable water bottle, a snack, and some sunscreen or bug repellent. Those participating online can savour these engaging activities from the comfort of their spaces.

About Mayor’s Summer Reading Club
