Rreal Tacos’ Expansion in Buckhead
Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, local favorite Rreal Tacos opened its seventh location in Buckhead on May 1. The renowned restaurant has taken over the space of the former Farm Burger in Tower Place. This new addition joins the existing Rreal Tacos outlets spread across Midtown, West Midtown, Chamblee, Sandy Springs, Cumming, and Sugar Hill.

Revival of Zesto Space with Pizza Verdura Sincera
The iconic Zesto spot in Little Five Points has been transformed into a haven for vegan diners. Pizza Verdura Sincera, a vegan pizzeria, opened its doors on April 27, two years after taking over the space. The pizzeria offers a variety of vegan pies topped with vegan-friendly ingredients like vegan pepperoni and seasonal vegetables such as squash, zucchini, and sweet onions.
Casa Balam Brings Mexican Flavours to Decatur
Previously home to Ted’s Montana Grill, downtown Decatur’s newest culinary spot is Casa Balam. The Mexican restaurant, which opened its doors on April 23, is from the same group that introduced the successful Mexican fine dining restaurants El Valle in Midtown and Oaxaca in Chamblee. The menu, curated by Chef and co-owner Luis Damian, encompasses a mix of traditional and modern Mexican dishes including tacos, empanadas and family-style meat options like duck confit, beef birria, and Chilean sea bass.
Auburn Angel Takes Flight on Auburn Avenue
A new player in the restaurant scene, Auburn Angel, officially opened on April 19 in the historical Auburn Avenue Rib Shack space. The trio behind this venture – proprietor Asa Fain, executive chef Robbie Pacheco and pastry chef Pamela Moxley – offer both indoor and alfresco dining options. Patrons can relish unique dishes such as grilled octopus, striped bass on spring peas and pickled enoki mushrooms, and rhubarb almond tart.
Vine Fine Wine Debuts in Decatur
Downtown Decatur welcomed a new proponent in its beverage sector on April 19, with the opening of the Vine Fine Wine shop. Owners Sam Pilch and Madeline Long focus on minimal intervention wines from smaller producers globally. Wine enthusiasts can expect a variety of organic and biodynamic wines, as well as an extensive collection of wine books.
