If you’ve spent any time in Atlanta, you’ve probably noticed that the city is buzzing with some truly amazing folks who are making waves in various fields. One such person is Steve Cadranel, a name synonymous with commercial real estate development in the area. With a career spanning over 40 years, this Atlanta native has left his mark on landmark projects and continues to shape the skyline of our great city.
As the owner and president of Arris Realty Partners, Cadranel has been instrumental in bringing some of the most recognized structures to life, including the Mall of Georgia, Columbus Park in Columbus, and the St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Did you know he was also part of crafting developments that total over 10 million square feet? That’s a lot of space—and a lot of imagination.
Beyond his impressive portfolio, Cadranel has also played a pivotal role in several community organizations. He’s served as a past board chair for the MJCCA, the Kennesaw State University Foundation, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta. Cadranel champions causes that empower social, gender, and racial equity, especially through initiatives honoring his son, Adam, who tragically passed away from cancer in 2021. The Cadranels are making sure Adam’s legacy lives on, which is a truly touching aspect of his story.
Steve and his wife, Janet, have been a team for 39 years. Together, they enjoy quality time with family and friends, traveling, and relaxing at their beautiful Reynolds Lake home. The couple’s love for sports is palpable as they cheer for the UGA Bulldogs and Kennesaw State Owls. It’s all about balancing work with fun, isn’t it?
If you think real estate is static, think again! As Cadranel wisely points out, “it’s constantly evolving, so adapt or lose.” Heh, we can all take a page from that book, right? With a passion for the game, he believes that everyone in the industry genuinely loves what they do.
Let’s get a little more personal—Steve’s first job was at his uncle’s grocery store at just 12 years old, where he learned to treat everyone with dignity and respect. Those are valuable lessons that stick with someone for a lifetime! When it comes to fun, you’ll often find him celebrating on the town, especially on New Year’s Eve, his birthday! Talk about a dual celebration!
When asked about his most exotic vacation, Cadranel reflected on a family trip where they sailed a luxury yacht from Barcelona across the Mediterranean. Sounds fancy, doesn’t it? He also shared that his best piece of advice he ever received was simple yet profoundly effective: “The right tool makes every job easier.” Wise words to live by!
Here’s a fun fact about our real estate mogul—he knows all the words to the theme songs of “Bonanza” and “Mr. Ed”. Who wouldn’t love a guy who can serenade you with classic TV tunes? As for fashion, thanks to his family keeping him in check, he’s avoided any major style blunders. But if they made a movie about his life, he jokes that Ben Stiller would fit the bill.
In a world of changing landscapes and evolving ideas, Steve Cadranel is a breath of fresh air. His commitment to the community, passion for real estate, and love for family create a remarkable tapestry that we can all draw inspiration from. Atlanta is lucky to have such a dedicated mover and shaker!
