Last Friday, a traffic incident erupted near the iconic Big Chicken landmark in Marietta, a suburban city northwest of the bustling Atlanta metropolitan area. Located at the busy intersection of Cobb Parkway N. and Roswell Road, it was the site of a three-vehicle mishap that, unfortunately, ended up sending a few folks to the hospital.
An Atlanta woman, 60, whose name is Sandy Curry, was tooling down Cobb Parkway in a Mustang, going south towards the intersection with Roswell Street. That’s when the unexpected happened – she plowed her Mustang into a police cruiser stationed at a red light. The collision was so intense that her vehicle jackknifed out of control, slamming into a Prius driven by another senior, Ahmed Sheridan, from Marietta.
In the wake of this brutal accident, Curry was flung from her Mustang. Meanwhile, two local Marietta law enforcement officers had to be pried out of their wrecked squad car. Ambulances arrived in record time, rushing Curry and the officers to the local Kennestone Hospital with major injuries. While Ms. Curry remains at the hospital recovering, the two brave officers have since been treated and released.
The Prius driver’s condition, Ahmed Sheridan, has not yet been confirmed. Up until now, it’s also unclear whether any charges will be pressed against Curry for her role in the unfortunate incident.
The crash is still being investigated by local authorities. Anyone with more knowledge about the incident has been encouraged to share it with the local police investigators at this number: 770-794-5384. Don’t hesitate to call and help the cops get the whole picture of what went down that fateful night.
