A flashback to 1970! Atlanta gets ready for Peacock’s FIGHT NIGHT: THE MILLION DOLLAR HEIST

Yo! Get ready, Atlanta! Something big and exciting is rolling into our city this week. The Peacock Network is pulling out all the stops to promote their new limited series, FIGHT NIGHT: THE MILLION DOLLAR HEIST. This series is executive produced by none other than Will Packer and stars big names like Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, Taraji P. Henson, Don Cheadle, and Terrence Howard.

Get to know the Story

The series is based on the famous iHeart true-crime podcast. It’s an intense, nail-biting story about an armed robbery that took place on the same historic night as Muhammad Ali’s comeback fight in 1970. This robbery not only changed the life of one man but also played a key role in transforming Atlanta into the “Black Mecca”.

It’s More Than Just a Series!

But here’s the cool part, Peacock isn’t just bringing this riveting series to our screens, they’re transforming our town too. They are advancing entertainment by giving it a community engagement twist. This involves cool stuff like a BronzeLens’ Opening Night screening, interactive events, and partnerships with local businesses. All of this is to celebrate Atlanta’s vibrant culture and its role in the series’ story.

Experience the 70’s with BronzeLens and Local Artists!

They’re kicking off with BronzeLens’s annual film festival that includes a special 70’s themed screening of Fight Night: Million Dollar Heist on August 21st at the Tara Atlanta Theater. Also, local artists E.L. Chisolm and Yuzly Mathurin have partnered with Paramount to design four custom murals around the city. West Coast Customs even recreated the iconic ‘CHICKEN MAN’s’ 1966 Cadillac Calais. This ride will be touring various stops throughout the campaign in Atlanta.

Spotlight on Black-Owned Businesses

Peacock is also giving a bunch of Atlanta-based Black-owned businesses a chance to shine. On August 24th, these businesses are throwing it back to the 70s by offering their products and services at retro prices! This includes historic establishments like Paschal’s Restaurant and the Clermont Hotel, both featured in the Peacock series.

Paschal’s and the Clermont Hotel’s Special Offers

At Paschal’s, you’ll get sweet teas for just 50¢ and their famous Fried Chicken Sandwich for $2, while the Clermont Hotel’s Rooftop Bar will offer Black-owned Whiskey brands & Coke for $4 and Tequila & Ginger for $4.

Other Featured Businesses and Offers

There are a bunch of other businesses taking part too. Tu La 2 Nail Salon, Versus ATL, Brooklyn Tea ATL, Sublime Donuts, Village at Ponce City, and Copper Cove are all rolling back their prices on the 24th.

So, if you’re in Atlanta, don’t miss out on this unique and exciting experience. It’s not often we get to step back in time and live out a bit of history! Let’s unite as a community and support our local businesses on this special day!
