In the heart of Marietta, a frightening crash involving three cars got the town buzzing on a quiet Friday night. The crash included two local law enforcement officers and an Atlanta driver. The driver, a 60-year-old woman named Sandy Curry was actually thrown from her car during the mayhem.
Sandy was cruising her Mustang southbound on Cobb Parkway. As she approached its intersection with Roswell Street around 10:15 p.m., she collided with a marked patrol car that was idling at a red light. Following the impact, her car spun wildly out of control and rammed into the back of a Toyota Prius. The Prius was being handled by a local named Ahmed Sheridan, also 60 years of age.
Sandy’s collision was so strong that she was immediately flung from her vehicle. The crash site was the iconic Big Chicken on Cobb Parkway. At that time, officers Morrison and Sherman were on patrol duty when their vehicle was hit. Both police officers, along with Sandy, had to be rushed to Kennestone Hospital owing to critical injuries.
The officers were subsequently released from the hospital but, unfortunately, Sandy is still recovering. It is unknown whether Ahmed Sheridan got hurt in the accident or not. Also, there’s no clear word on whether Sandy will face charges for the accident.
The law enforcement officials are continuing with their investigation of the incident. To aid in their probe, they are inviting the public to come forward if they have any relevant information about the crash. The situation is being taken very seriously and anyone with helpful pointers is encouraged to reach out to authority figures at 770-794-5384.
As the news of the crash spread across town, residents have been praying and sending their well-wishes to all those impacted. The situation remains tense, but the town’s unity offers some comfort in these difficult times. The unfortunate incident serves as an important reminder of the importance of road safety and following traffic rules to a tee. As we wait for more information from the ongoing investigation, we hope for a quick recovery for those injured and peace within the local community.
