Atlanta Earns Four New Michelin Stars, Elevating Its Culinary Reputation to Nine Total

Atlanta’s Culinary Scene Shines with New Michelin Stars

Hey there, Atlanta food lovers! Exciting news has just come in from the culinary world, as our beloved city has gained four new Michelin stars—which brings our total to a magnificent nine. This remarkable accolade follows the Michelin Guide’s review of our city’s vibrant dining scene for the second year in a row. If you’ve ever wondered where to find the best food in town, you’re in luck!

A Wider Net and Diverse Choices

The Michelin inspectors have been busy and this year they’ve cast a wider net around the metro area, celebrating diverse cuisines and the talented chefs who create them. At a lovely ceremony held at the Georgia World Congress Center, Gwendal Poullennec, the international director of the Michelin Guides, shared a delightful message about Atlanta’s culinary rise. He mentioned how “the city’s world-renowned warmth and welcome” are constants in these new culinary gems that have joined the already impressive gastronomic offerings in 2024.

Why This Matters

As Atlanta prepares for big events like the FIFA World Cup in 2026, this recognition firmly puts us on the international culinary map. William Pate, the president and CEO of the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, took the opportunity to express his pride in our city’s food scene, stating that for too long, Atlanta didn’t receive the recognition it deserved. But aligning with the Michelin brand has certainly changed that! Our city is now paving the way to becoming one of the top food destinations in the country—and around the world.

Meet the New Star Recipients

This year’s new Michelin stars were awarded to four fabulous restaurants—two of which are Japanese, showcasing the rich culinary traditions from abroad. Here’s the list of the new one-star recipients:

  • O by Brush, led by the talented Jason Liang
  • Omakase Table, run by the equally talented Leonard Yu
  • Spring, located in Marietta
  • Staplehouse, in the lively Old Fourth Ward

The established stars from last year also retained their status, continuing to offer “high-quality cooking worth a stop.” Those restaurants include:

  • Atlas
  • Bacchanalia
  • Hayakawa
  • Lazy Betty
  • Mujō

Bib Gourmand and Recommended Restaurants

But wait! There’s more. Four new establishments have earned the esteemed Bib Gourmand designation, which recognizes eateries that deliver “good food at a moderate price.” This year’s new additions are:

  • Masterpiece
  • Superica
  • Table & Main
  • Whoopsie’s

Atlanta also welcomed four new “recommended” restaurants, raising our total to a whopping 34:

  • Hen Mother Cookhouse
  • Little Sparrow
  • Nàdair
  • Woo Nam Jeong

Celebrating Culinary Excellence

With a total of 57 Michelin-acclaimed establishments in Atlanta, it’s safe to say that our city’s culinary scene is thriving! Mike Jordan, senior editor at a prominent local newspaper and the emcee of the event, remarked that the impact of these recognitions extends beyond just food. It’s about culture, community, and the unique spirit that makes Atlanta a must-visit destination for food lovers.

So, whether you’re a local or just visiting, there’s no shortage of incredible dining options in Atlanta. Get out there and explore a dining experience that’s sure to leave you coming back for more!
