Atlanta Welcomes Dave’s Hot Chicken with Major Expansion, Backed by Usher

Atlanta – The sizzling sensation of Nashville-style hot chicken has officially made its mark in Atlanta, as nine locations of the popular Dave’s Hot Chicken franchise are set to open in the area. The ambitious expansion is spearheaded by R&B icon Usher, who co-owns the Georgia locations alongside founding franchisees Lawrence Kourie and Andrew Feghali.

First Location Opens in Conyers

The first of these nine new restaurants opened its doors to the public last Thursday, August 29, at 1447 Highway 138 SE in Conyers. The grand opening event featured a DJ and free food samples, although fans of Usher were disappointed by his absence as he is currently on tour. Despite his absence, the launch event drew a significant crowd, eager to get a taste of the famous hot chicken that originated from a humble pop-up.

Humble Beginnings to Widespread Popularity

Dave’s Hot Chicken started out as a small pop-up in East Hollywood back in 2017. It quickly gained popularity as the Nashville hot chicken trend spread across the United States. Initially serving up spicy chicken tenders on white bread from a tent in a parking lot, Dave’s Hot Chicken has expanded its menu to include bites, sliders, fries, and shakes. With more than 100 locations now, the brand has earned a loyal following nationwide.

Usher’s Involvement

Usher shared his enthusiasm for the brand, saying, “Once I tried Dave’s Hot Chicken and spoke with the founders of the brand, I knew I wanted to be involved with the company.” His decision to bring Dave’s Hot Chicken to his hometown of Atlanta has been well-received by local fans and food enthusiasts alike. The partnership with Kourie and Feghali promises to bring more locations across the metro area, adding to Atlanta’s vibrant culinary scene.

Future Locations

As anticipation builds, residents are encouraged to stay tuned for announcements of upcoming locations. With nine spots planned for the Atlanta area, fans of spicy chicken will soon have multiple places to satisfy their cravings.
