Live Performances Return to 12th Annual Atlanta Fringe Festival this June
The 12th Annual Atlanta Fringe Festival is returning with a vengeance this June 3-9, 2024. The festival, renowned for its unconventional and eclectic celebration of performing arts, will be resuming live performances, encouraging artists from seven different states and Thailand to take center stage.
Reuniting artist groups for the festival, 28 unique acts will present live theater, dance, puppetry, comedy, storytelling and more. The festival promises to cover venues across Little Five Points, East Atlanta Village and Old Fourth Ward, with engaging performances scheduled for 7 Stages, The Marianna at Wrecking Bar Brewpub, Limelight Theater, Metropolitan Studios and Dynamic El Dorado.
A Festival for Families
Atlanta Fringe Festival also promises to cater to families with a free performance venue featuring family-friendly shows and activities. Alongside the entertaining performances by Atlanta’s finest street performers is an outdoor festival which will be carried out free of charge. In addition, an exclusive variety benefit will take place featuring local Atlanta talent and audio artists will be granted the opportunity to present their work on the Atlanta Fringe podcasting network.

Selection & Categories
The festival followed tradition in selecting the 28 companies that will be featured in this year’s line-up, where the majority were chosen through an unjuried lottery of approximately 100 global submissions. Performances will range from burlesque-based monster cabarets to ensemble comedies, modern dance, puppetry and magicians with a cash prize for excellence in various categories, as selected by the audience, staff, and a panel of judges from the Atlanta arts community.
Extra Programming
In addition to the variety of live performance highlights of Fringe Festival, there will be several free events on the schedule including family-friendly performances at East Atlanta Kids Club starting Saturday, June 8 at 10 a.m and a free preview performance at 7 Stages on Wednesday, June 5 at 7 p.m giving all 28 shows three minutes each to impress audiences.
The Atlanta Fringe Festival also extends its platform to busking and street performers with the Atlanta Street Fringe which will take place June 7-9 around Little 5 Points Village.
To further enhance the festival experience, there will be a benefit show titled, Five/5ths of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure which promises to retell the classic film in a unique manner. This show will launch the festival on Monday, June 3 at 7 p.m at 7 Stages.
Celebrating storytelling and radio theater, fringe festival will also host an audio component: Fringe Audio featuring pieces by local and national artists. Streaming from May 20 on AtlantaFringe.org, the shows are free, however, a $200 cash prize will be up for grabs for the winner of the Critics’ Choice Award.
