First up, Grammy superstar Usher’s mama, Jonnetta Patton, has gotten into the restaurant biz! Yup, you heard that right! She’s taken her kitchen skills out for a spin and opened up a barbecue joint called J’s Smokehouse in Doraville. Mouthwatering classics like smoked turkey legs, ribs and brisket are all on the menu, along with some scrumptious vegan options like pulled pork and hot dogs. This tasty eatery got its game on August 2, and it’s been smoking hot ever since!

A Foodie Expedition at Uptown Atlanta

Welcome to Uptown – a vibrant, bustling development in between Buckhead and Midtown. This hotspot is offering a culinary journey with three scrummy restaurants opening their doors this August. Taqueria El Gordo is sure to take your taste buds on a Mexican joyride with its famous birria tacos, while Bene Korean, a Korean barbecue joint, promises a feast fit for a king. That’s not all folks, gird your loins for White Windmill, a popular Korean bakery, and Madre Selva, a Latin restaurant, also set to join the fray in the coming months. What better way to make your summer sizzle, right?

Moonlight Rooftop Bar – Groovy Baby!

For those of you looking to sip on a cocktail in style, prepare to be taken back to the ‘70s with the swanky Moonlight Rooftop Bar at the Forth Hotel. Opening on August 8, it welcomed patrons to chat and chill on the 16th floor while enjoying cocktails like the Lucky Star, paired with appetising bites like deviled eggs, lobster rolls, and the fancy caviar service.

Cheffrey’s Kitchen: A Pop-up Kitchen in Brick and Mortar

Craving something a little more unique? Fasten your seatbelts for a gastronomical ride with Cheffrey’s Kitchen, a Japanese pop-up at Brick and Mortar in Pullman Yards. The Pop-up has decided to set up a traditional Kaiseki, a Japanese seven-course fancy meal for $80 a person, launching August 16. Be prepared for a food journey of a lifetime! But note folks, you gotta reserve in advance, so better get on it!
