Hey there, Atlanta! If you’re a fly fishing enthusiast or just love a fresh adventure, then mark your calendar because September 12th is your day. The 18th annual Fly Fishing Film Tour (F3T) is making a splash at Patagonia Buckhead, right here in our vibrant city.
This year’s tour is a global sensation, traveling to more than 14 countries and hosting over 300 shows. But lucky for us, the magic unfolds just around the corner at 34 E. Andrews Dr. NW, a stone’s throw from iconic spots like The St. Regis Atlanta and The Blind Pig Parlour Bar.
Starting at 6 PM, the doors open, welcoming you into an evening brimming with the heart and soul of the fly fishing community. You’ll get the chance to chat with local fishing nonprofits and groups who are committed to preserving the waterways and supporting the angler community. And yes, there will be gear giveaways that you definitely don’t want to miss.
Here’s how the evening unfolds:
Settle in as the first part of the film fest kicks off at 7 PM, showcasing the best fly fishing films of the year. There’s an intermission at 7:45 PM with giveaway prizes to amp up the excitement before diving back into more stunning visuals and stories from the fly fishing world at 8 PM.
Patagonia Buckhead isn’t just conveniently located; it’s also surrounded by some fantastic neighboring establishments. If you’re looking to grab a bite before the event, you’re just steps away from acclaimed spots like Chido and Padre’s and Chops Lobster Bar. Perhaps you fancy a cocktail? The Blind Pig Parlour Bar offers a cozy prelude to the evening’s main event.
For those visiting from out of town, several accommodation options are nearby, ensuring a comfortable stay. You’re just minutes away from The St. Regis Atlanta, Hyatt Place Atlanta/Buckhead, and The Kimpton Sylvan Hotel, all providing top-notch hospitality within a mile radius.
Joining forces with local fishing nonprofit organizations, this event is more than just film viewing; it’s about fostering community and promoting camaraderie among anglers. The Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, established way back in 1913 and located at 233 Peachtree Street, has been the force behind turning Atlanta into a buzzing hub for events and tourism, and this fly fishing fest is no exception.
So, gear up and come mingle with fellow anglers and enthusiasts. Whether you’re a seasoned fly fisher or completely new to the scene, the F3T at Patagonia Buckhead is the perfect way to dive into the world of fly fishing.
We can’t wait to see you there!
