Get in the Groove with Some Live Music

Friday Jazz at High Museum: This every-third-Friday-of-the-month event is all about jazz. Non-member tickets go for $30, but if you are a member, you’re good to go! This is happening at 6 p.m. on August 16, at the High Museum.

Salsa Social at Callanwolde: This event is for the salsa lovers out there. There’s an offer for a free class if you show up early. It’s going for $15 advance and $20 at the door. Be at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center at 6 p.m., also on August 16.

The Laughter Therapy

Jams & Jokes: A Night of Atlanta’s Best Clean Comedy and Christian Music: Need a good laugh? How about some soulful Christian music? Make a turn at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church from 7 to 9 p.m. on August 17. Tickets are up from $20 to $35.

Best of Atlanta Comedy Showcase: And here’s another place to get your chuckle on with ten talented comedians. Head over to Laughing Skull Comedy Club at 5 p.m. on August 17. A ticket starts at $35.

Some Theatrical and Artistic Experiences

The Color Purple: Watch this touching tale of a lady named Celie who fights against all odds. This play, based on Alice Walker’s book, will be performed at the Aurora Theatre, and tickets start at $31.

Cirque du Soleil: Corteo: Up for some fancy fun? This show is perfect for you. It’s happening at the Gas South Arena at 7 p.m. from August 15-18. Ticket prices start at just $44.

Feast-ivals for the Foodies

2024 Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival: At Adam’s Park, on August 16 and 17, the annual BBQ festival is giving you a chance to pig out! Not to mention the live music, games, and other family-friendly fun.

Piedmont Park Arts Festival: And if you are happening to be in Piedmont Park on August 17 and 18, brace yourself for an event featuring artists of all sorts. A kids’ play area and food court are also available.

Actions, Chills, and Spills with Sports!

USA Netball Premier League Launch: Get ready for some netball action on August 17 and 18 at the Redan Recreation Centre.
