Atlanta Duo Spearheads Clean Energy Movement Within Black and Brown Communities

Bearing the Brunt of Climate Change

Black and Brown communities are disproportionately impacted by climate change, a harsh reality hip-hop producer Corey Dennard and environmentalist Michael Hawthorne Jr. intend to combat.

The dynamic duo, based in Atlanta, established a nonprofit organization – Klean Energy Kulture – dedicated to making the clean energy lifestyle accessible not just to communities of color but to the entire world by 2035.

Klean Energy Kulture – A Revolution in Clean Energy

On a recent episode of “Closer Look,” Dennard and Hawthorne shared their innovative approach to addressing climate change and environmental injustice. Their strategy? Infusing fighting environmental challenges with a sense of swagger and accessibility.

Their platform aims to educate, encourage, and empower communities to participate in the clean energy movement. They passionately believe that access to clean energy shouldn’t be restricted to certain social classes, and instead, should be a fundamental right provided to all, regardless of their socio-economic status.
