Atlanta Celebrates Exciting New Show, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist with Murals and Local Deals
Peacock’s New Limited Series Shaking Up the Town
Something extraordinary is happening in Atlanta this week. Thanks to Peacock, the whole city is buzzing with energy over their incredibly anticipated limited show, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.
Outstanding producers like Will Packer and front-line stars such as Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, Taraji P. Henson, Don Cheadle, and Terrence Howard have come together to bring this unique narrative to life. The series is inspired by a powerful true-crime podcast from iHeart, which tells the thrilling story of the armed robbery that took place during Muhammad Ali’s historic 1970 comeback fight. It was a night that changed the life of a man and played a pivotal role in transforming Atlanta into the “Black Mecca”.
City-Wide Celebrations
The Peacock’s promo campaign has planned several events that will combine entertainment with community engagement. It starts off with an opening night screening at the BronzeLens Film Festival on Aug. 21st. Expect a 70s-themed screening at the Tara Atlanta Theater.
Alongside this, Peacock teamed up with local artists, E.L. Chisolm and Yuzly Mathurin, to create four exclusive murals across the city. Oh, and here’s a fun surprise—West Coast Customs and their student academy went ahead and designed an exact replica of CHICKEN MAN’s 1966 Cadillac Calais (as driven by Kevin Hart’s character).
Promoting Local Black-Owned Businesses
In an exciting step, Peacock is also promoting various Black-owned businesses in Atlanta with 1970s-themed deals on Aug. 24th. Locations like Paschal’s Restaurant and the Clermont Hotel’s Rooftop Bar, both showcased in the series, will offer ‘throwback’ prices on chosen items.
For instance, Paschal’s will be selling sweet teas for 50¢ and fried chicken sandwiches for just $2! The Clermont Hotel’s Rooftop Bar is not far behind with a happy hour where drinks cost $4. Businesses like Tu La 2 Nail Salon, Versus ATL, Brooklyn Tea ATL, Sublime Donuts, Village at Ponce City, and Copper Cove will also be participating with their own special discounts on products and services.
