Atlanta Appoints Maria Guerra-Stoll to Film, Music, and Digital Entertainment Advisory Commission

Atlanta Welcomes New Member to the Film, Music, and Digital Entertainment Advisory Commission

Exciting news is buzzing in Atlanta! Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has made a remarkable appointment that is set to shake up the film and entertainment landscape in the Peach State. He has selected Maria Guerra-Stoll, the talented CEO of GSB Architects and Interiors, to join the Georgia Film, Music, and Digital Entertainment Advisory Commission. This commission serves as an advisory body to the State’s Office of Economic Development and plays a crucial role in overseeing Georgia’s booming film, music, and gaming sectors.

A Trailblazer in Georgia’s Film Industry

Many may not know that Guerra-Stoll is not just a new face in the advisory commission but a pioneer who has greatly impacted Georgia’s film industry over the years. Originally from Venezuela, she has stitched together significant advancements in the design and implementation of sound stages, backlots, and studios, making them a staple of the Georgia landscape. Tyler Perry Studios, the first major studio production campus in Georgia, is one of the crowning jewels of her extensive work.

The film industry in Georgia has exploded recently, contributing almost $5 billion to the state’s economy. It’s hard to believe that this vibrant sector was once an afterthought! The Georgia Film Office was established in 1973 after the critically acclaimed film Deliverance showcased the state as a filming hotspot. Slow growth followed over the years, with only around 500 film projects recorded by 2007. That all changed in the early 2000s when the state unveiled a groundbreaking package of incentives to entice filmmakers. Georgia soon transformed into the Hollywood of the South.

Empowerment Through Opportunity

Guerra-Stoll is not only innovating in the film and architectural realms; she’s also a dedicated advocate for minority business development. Inspired by Tyler Perry’s monumental contributions to the community, she has made it her mission to empower the Hispanic community. Her firm, PAM Studios LLC, established in 2015, focuses on projects that uplift and inspire women and minorities in the film, television, and streaming industries.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Guerra-Stoll is actively involved in various organizations aimed at fostering community growth. She serves on boards for the Latin American Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Georgia Latino Film Festival, among others. Her commitment to social responsibility is further exemplified by her engagement with Habitat for Humanity and multiple chambers of commerce.

Community Recognition

The community is buzzing with excitement over Guerra-Stoll’s appointment to the advisory commission. Many people recognize the profound influence she has had on Atlanta’s entertainment industry and beyond. It’s heartening to see someone with such dedication and vision stepping into a role that empowers others while enhancing the state’s robust entertainment sector.

As she embarks on this new journey in the advisory commission, many are looking forward to the fresh perspectives and insights she will bring. Guerra-Stoll’s commitment to blazing trails for others in her community is truly inspiring, and everyone is rooting for her continued success!

Hats Off to Maria!

So, let’s take a moment to congratulate Maria Guerra-Stoll on this well-deserved appointment. Here’s to her ongoing efforts that uplift not only the film industry but strengthen the community she cares deeply about.
