Atlanta Hosts Exciting Affordable Housing Week 2024

Hey Atlanta, it’s time to gear up for an exciting week as Mayor Andre Dickens and the Department of City Planning bring “Affordable Housing Week” to the city from Monday, October 28 through Wednesday, October 30, 2024. The event, taking place at Atlanta City Hall, promises a lineup packed with informative sessions and engaging presentations focused on the developers, landlords, and residents alike.

Diving into Affordable Housing

This annual event aims to educate and excite those involved or interested in the housing market by diving into various topics surrounding affordable housing. Some highlighted sessions include Developer Engagement with the NPUs, Workforce Housing Program Compliance, and Zoning Process & Strategies. Skilled presenters will give a closer look at the housing lifecycle, providing both insights and strategies essential to advancing affordability in our city.

Mayor Dickens has set an inspiring goal for Atlanta—20,000 affordable housing units within eight years. As of this month, approximately 10,000 units have been slated, with 6,000 already reaching completion and another 4,000 currently under construction. This week, you’ll learn about the Welcome H.O.M.E. program and the strides Atlanta is making in innovative housing solutions.
