Atlanta Celebrates Black Women in Business at 40th Annual Super Tuesday Event

Every year, October marks a special occasion for Black women business owners and professionals in Atlanta. The Atlanta Business League is hosting its 40th annual Super Tuesday event on October 15th, an annual celebration that has been lifting up these talented individuals for the past four decades.

The day will start off with the Women of Vision (WOV) breakfast bright and early at 8:00 a.m. This isn’t just any breakfast. It’s a gathering that has become a beloved tradition over the past twenty-seven years, recognizing a group of 100 Black female business leaders and professionals affectionately titled the Women of Influence.

Get ready for some exciting moments during the breakfast! This year, two absolutely extraordinary women, the Honorable Stacey Abrams, a formidable force as Georgia’s former Democratic minority leader and now an esteemed professor at Howard University, and Mrs. Azira G. Hill, founder of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Talent Development Program, will be inducted into the Women’s Hall of Fame. Attendees can look forward to a live fireside chat conducted by former Atlanta first lady Valerie Jackson, sure to provide insights and inspiration.

Themed Activities and Insightful Workshops

With the event’s theme, “One Great Day: The Ballot, the Book, and the Buck,” participants will delve into how these elements can powerfully influence and propel dreams and goals. Whether it’s understanding the mutual benefits of mentoring, exploring increased minority participation in sports and entertainment, or learning to combat stereotypes and enhance representation, the morning workshops offer something for everyone.

And there’s more. As the morning progresses, attendees can discover pathways to building a lasting legacy with a focus on Generational Wealth, embracing technology through Evolving with Technology: Tailoring AI to Business Needs, and receiving guidance for new entrepreneurs in the Finding Your Path session.

Celebrating Trailblazers During Luncheon

As the day reaches its peak with the 40th Annual Super Tuesday Luncheon, the spotlight shines on exceptional women who have crushed glass ceilings in their industries. The Lottie H. Watkins Female First Award will honor three trailblazing women: Regenia Sanders of Ernst & Young, Chloe Barzey of Accenture, and Tiffany Burns of McKinsey & Company’s Atlanta Office—all the first Black women to hold their positions within their organizations.

Stay tuned at the luncheon to discover who will be revealed as this year’s Woman of the Year. The nominees competing for this prestigious title include some incredible leaders: Monica Coleman from Stanley’s Cigar Lounge, Jeanie Hunter from Synergy Development, Kelsi Queen-Robinson from EGM Services, Inc., and Rassalyn Rawls-Uter from Xclusive Hair Studio. The winner will be rewarded with an outstanding business package, boasting options like a media package makeover, an advertising package with WCLK 91.9 Radio, and even a LEGO SERIOUS PLAY Methodology Team Building Session.

The Meaning Beyond Business

This year, the conference finds added relevance as it coincides with early voting in Georgia. The event’s conclusion features a crucial session addressing the importance of the upcoming November election, dealing with issues such as misinformation and voter disenfranchisement.

According to Leona Barr-Davenport, president & CEO of the Atlanta Business League, this is “the largest continuously operating conference for Black women business owners and professionals in the country.” She proudly asserts, “Our success and high turnout speak volumes about the community we serve.”

Mark your calendars and get ready for an enlightening, empowering, and enriching day at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis on October 15. Come celebrate, learn, and connect with dynamic women making waves in the business world.
