ROSWELL, Ga. — Metro Atlanta Human Trafficking Bust Leads to Multiple Arrests
In a significant crackdown on an alleged human trafficking operation, Roswell Police collaborated with multiple law enforcement agencies to conduct raids in various metro Atlanta homes and apartments.
Last Thursday, officers from Roswell Police, neighboring police departments, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and Homeland Security executed search warrants following a months-long investigation that began in March. The investigation initially focused on suspicious activities surrounding the solicitation of prostitution in the Roswell area.
As authorities delved deeper, they uncovered evidence suggesting that suspects were running illicit massage services or engaging in prostitution out of several Roswell apartments and throughout the metro Atlanta region.
Police have arrested Jeannot Joseph, 39, from Roswell, Qin Zhen, 48, from Sandy Springs, and Jinpei Li, 72, from Norcross. The suspects now face serious charges including racketeering, sex trafficking, and labor trafficking.
Discovery of Victims
During the execution of search warrants, one additional victim was identified, enhancing the total count of rescued victims to three, including the two found earlier this year. This discovery is part of a broader effort stemming from a similar operation conducted by Roswell Police in September 2023, which led to several arrests and the rescue of over 50 trafficking victims.
