Atlanta’s Fast-Growing Company, PrizePicks, Appoints New CEO

Here Comes the New Boss in Town

The booming Atlanta-based company, PrizePicks, famous for its daily fantasy sports-ops, unveils their shiny new CEO, Mike Ybarra. Previously led by multi-timer tech founder, Adam Wexler, the baton’s now passed to Ybarra, effective as of yesterday.

With Ybarra’s impressive track record in the gaming industry and his stellar leadership at several public firms under his belt, he might just be the spark PrizePicks needs next. Ybarra was once part of the tech titan Microsoft for 19 years, there acting as a Corporate VP for Xbox Live and Xbox Game Pass until 2019. Later on, he headed over to Blizzard Entertainment, a popular video game developer, and publisher in California, where he presided president.

PrizePicks’ Exciting Years So Far

Kick-started in 2017, PrizePicks has actually been on quite a groovy journey. What started as a simple Atlanta Tech Village project has today exploded in terms of its team, partnerships, and workspace. You can now catch flights of fantasy sports on their platform from 33 American states, Washington DC, even Canada!

The company also scored some major sports team partnerships recently, becoming the official daily fantasy sports partner for Atlanta Braves for the 2024 season. Last year, the company extended its territory by opening a posh new 33k square foot office in West Midtown. Among recent developments, they announced plans to add 1k new employees over the next seven years – confirming their faith in the fantasy sports world.

Where the Old Meets New

Ybarra, who’ll be stationed at PrizePicks’ Atlanta headquarters, has some massive shoes to fill – those of Wexler, who will now serve as the company’s Executive Chairman. Wexler showed tremendous pride in what they’ve built at PrizePicks and expressed excitement about Ybarra’s appointment.

According to Wexler, Ybarra’s experience in developing popular games, driving initiatives, and upsizing customer bases will carry PrizePicks to new successes. We’re waiting with bated breath to see how this new direction for PrizePicks pans out. Stay tuned for more updates!
