A shocking domestic incident occurred on Sunday night in an Atlantan residence—a shooting scenario left two boys injured, namely an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old. Police found one victim at the scene, while the second boy had been driven by a Good Samaritan to a nearby petrol station to ensure safety.
The incident took place approx. around 10:30 PM at a house on Omaha Road in southwest Atlanta. Paramedics rushed both victims to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston Hospital, which confirmed that the boys are expected to recover from their injuries.
The Suspect
Officers at the scene apprehended a man, who is now identified as James Kimbrough. Charges against him include reckless conduct, cruelty towards children in two counts, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The authorities have not yet elaborated on Kimbrough’s relationship to the victims.
A resident of the area, Michael Davis, expressed his shock at the incident. “Too close to home, too close to home. It shouldn’t happen all together nowhere,” said Davis. “I see them get off the bus when I’m here at random times. They kind of play in the street a little bit.”

Atlanta Police Captain Joshua Holt related: “Our officers arrived on scene, identified two juveniles who were shot.” Captain Holt confirmed that this case appears to be an isolated domestic incident, dismissing any possibilities that the boys shot each other.
