Fulton County and Atlanta Reinstate Animal Control Services
Intergovernmental Agreement Approved
In a significant step towards maintaining the wildlife constitution and public safety in Atlanta, Fulton County and the City of Atlanta have arrived at a consensus to restore animal control services in the city’s jurisdiction. This decision follows an interruption of these services caused by the lack of an agreement between these two governing entities during the initial months of 2024. However, clearing the clouds of uncertainty, both parties have now approved this pivotal decision and reinvigorated their commitment to the well-being of animals and the community at large.
City of Atlanta Resumes Dispatching Of Animal Control Services
Newly resumed services can be accessed by City of Atlanta residents by simply dialing 404-613-0358. Approximately 55% of all animal control services related calls from Fulton County pertain to residents within the Atlanta city limits, underlining the significance of the decision to residents in this region.
Acknowledging Atlanta’s earnest part in dealing with the temporary disruption, Fulton County houses hitherto received nearly 98 canines from Atlanta citizens for care during this pause in services. Acting as a beacon of hope amidst the turmoil, the County’s Animal Services facility indeed proved vital during the standstill.

Previous Community Outrages
The animal control issue has not been the city’s only hot topic in recent days. Amongst the neighborhood rumblings are accounts of the Pullman Yards’ owner’s execrable manners and contemptible behavior towards an Atlanta Watershed employee, leading to public outrage.
